Invitation to NAG AGM 2026—Victoria, BC, Canada
September 16–20, 2026

Please join us in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, from September 16th to 20th, 2026, as we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the installation of our original eight bells.

Over these five days, there will be a mix of ringing activities—tower and handbell ringing for all levels, from beginners to seasoned ringers. We will also offer small-group seminars on ringing skills and tower management, giving everyone a chance to learn, share, and connect.

This year we have arranged for Andrew Slade (Chair of the Association of Ringing Teachers) to come and teach the ART Module 1 on how to teach bell handling. This course will be on Tuesday September 15, the day before the AGM starts. This is the perfect opportunity for those of us engaged in recruiting and teaching beginners. ARTs website, bellringing.org click on ‘For Ringing Teachers’ and then Course listings to find our course.

The three nearest towers have rearranged their schedules to make it possible for visitors to ring:

  • Westminster Abbey Mission, Sunday, September 13th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
    jr@westminsterabbey.ca
  • Holy Rosary Cathedral, Vancouver, Monday, September 14th, 7PM to 9:00 PM.
    emunns@shaw.ca
  • University of Washington, USA, Monday, September 21st. 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  The
first hour will be on the simulator and the second will be open. woodgate@uw.ed

When you are not ringing, Victoria is full of things to enjoy. From gardens and museums to waterfront walks, delicious food, and charming neighbourhoods, there is always something to explore. For ideas, you may wish to look at the Tourism Victoria website www.tourismvictoria.com

With regard to getting to Victoria, Andrew Tyler has prepared an informative document that gives many alternatives.

If you are thinking of making a longer holiday out of it, this is the perfect opportunity. You might take a scenic journey on the Rocky Mountaineer www.rockymountaineer.com or set off on an Alaska cruise, with sailings from Victoria or nearby Vancouver.

The heart of our time together will be the Annual General Meeting itself on Saturday, Sept. 19th, after which we will have our customary special dinner.  Please use the registration form below.

It will be our joy and pleasure to welcome you.
