Turn on the television and you are bombarded with programs on finding, designing, building, buying, restoring or furnishing your home. Meanwhile, the earth is radically polluted and millions of people worldwide are refugees. What is “home” in Christian theology and how might a theology of home point to a way out of the twin poles of consumerism and homelessness in the contemporary west?

Dr. Garrigan will help us reframe the way we think about “home” and therefore our unhoused neighbours. She will invite us to imagine home as “participating instead of possessing” in every  sphere of life, in pursuit of a theology of home capable of preventing homelessness and not merely ministering to people experiencing it.
