Summer Recital Series

The 60th annual Summer Recital Series features 9 free weekly concerts.
Christ Church Cathedral announces its annual Summer Recital Series, this year celebrating its 60th season. This year’s line-up includes a broad cross-section from Victoria’s vibrant classical music scene, as well as a sampling of international artists. “The series has been delighting Victoria audiences for 59 years now,” said Director of Music, Donald Hunt. “This year’s program will not disappoint. Christ Church Cathedral is one of this city’s most beloved classical music venues. All summer long, it’s our pleasure to fling open the doors and welcome everyone, regardless of concert-going experience or financial means.” 

The first concert is this Saturday and features pianist Sarah Hagen. Praised for her “exquisite phrasing and a refreshingly imaginative approach,” Prince Edward Island based pianist Sarah Hagen plays her recently-recorded interpretation of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, before continuing her summer tour to Sweden and Denmark.
