Kate Newman, our Coordinator of Children's, Youth and Family Ministry has been at the Cathedral since July 2016.

Kate Newman has been teaching faith and arts to children for 15 years. She is the principal developer for the Anglican Church of Canada's Arts-Integration Children’s Curriculum, Compendium of the Church Mice. She has a Masters of Education from UBC and a Masters of Theological Studies from the Vancouver School of Theology. A native of Vancouver, for 22 years, Kate spent a lot of time creating live theatre and has also toured across the country doing Shakespeare. She is happy to be back in Victoria; she was baptized and confirmed right here at Christ Church Cathedral. She is also a mother of Moses.

Kate coordinates and develops programs for children youth and families here at Christ Church. Kate enjoys working collaboratively, using the arts as outreach and as a means of understanding children’s perspective on the Gospel. You may see Kate with a note pad at coffee hour. Come for a friendly smile and to share your insights on children youth and families here. “Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you." Matthew 7:7
