CONCERT II:  On the Construction of the Heav’ns  is a multi-media concert event, featuring a Baroque chamber orchestra playing music of William Herschel, 18th Century composer and astronomer, some of it being heard for the first time in the modern era.   Plus stunning projections, taken by members of the Victoria Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society.

The season:

For the fourth consecutive year, two of Victoria’s leading exponents of period performance practice (Michael Jarvis and Paul Luchkow) return to Christ Church Cathedral.  This year, the focus is music of the 18th Century.  Three of the concerts take place on Saturday evenings in the intimate, acoustically splendid upstairs Chapel of the New Jerusalem.  The fourth is a larger-scale, multi-media event – a son et lumière spectacular with chamber orchestra – Friday evening in the main nave of the Cathedral.
