Spanning the worlds of early Romantic lyricism and 20th century dramatic virtuosity and jazz-inspired rhythm, this program explores the remarkable range of chamber music through works by Philippe Gaubert and Carl Maria von Weber, as well as a unique jazz-inspired trio by Ukrainian composer Nikolai Kapustin. Pianist Monica Pfau will be joined by Victoria Symphony principals Arin Sarkissian on flute, and Brian Yoon on cello, to present a vibrant programme rich in contrast and colour.
