Transfiguration
with The Rev'd Ross Bliss

Using a classic 16th century icon replica as a guide we will explore the relationship between iconography and the distinctive theology of beatification, or vision of God that undergirds it. Join us to learn more about how the concept of transfiguration is both foundational to iconology and also basic to the idea of theosis in Eastern Orthodox understanding and how this may differ from our understanding in the West.

About Anglican 101

Our long running Anglican 101 is intended as a series of short primers on aspects of the Anglican tradition as well as some general topics of Christian faith or faith practice, from an Anglican perspective. These sessions begin with a short presentation followed by a time for questions and conversation and usually wrap up within a half hour.  Our hope is that you will find these sessions both interesting and helpful in your own understanding and faith practice.  We are also open to ideas, so if you are curious about something we do or believe, or just want to learn more about some aspect of faith - please let us know by emailing or calling the office with your suggestion.
