Christ Church Cathedral and the Church of St John the Divine are delighted to be, once again, coming together for this joint observance of Ascension Day, a Principal Feast in the Anglican Communion.
Since 2019, musicians, singers, readers, clergy, and congregations from both communities have come together for the planning of this joint Eucharistic celebration. This year, we also welcome the Neuss Chamber Orchestra and their Director Joachim Neugart. Based in Neuss, Germany, the orchestra was founded in 1957 to encourage local musicians in their creative endeavours. They have toured extensively, including to the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. This service is part of a Canadian tour which includes performances in Vancouver and Parksville.
We welcome The Venerable Alastair Singh-McCollum as our homilist. Alastair is the Incumbent at St John the Divine and one of the Archdeacons for the Diocese of Island and Inlets.
