Following the combined service at 10.30am on Sunday, 25th Feb we will hold our AGM.  (There will not be a 9.15am or 11am service on this day.)

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the parishioners of Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria, will be held on the 25th day of February at 12.30 p.m. for a meeting of the vestry (AGM).

In advance of this meeting, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Diocesan Canons as pertains to Annual meeting of parishioners. You can find this document HERE

Notices of motion must be submitted to the Priest-in-Charge, no later than February 11th. Please be advised that motions from the floor on the day of the Vestry meeting will not be accepted.

An elector who is unable to attend a meeting in person may appoint, in writing, another elector to attend and vote on their behalf by proxy, provided that no elector may hold more than one proxy at any meeting. A proxy is valid only for the one meeting to which it refers.

An “elector” is a parishioner not less than 16 years of age.

A “parishioner” is any baptized person who shall have been in regular attendance at a church of the Diocese for a period of not less than three months.

  1. No parishioner may vote in more than one parish in a 12-month period.
  2. The “church” in question will be the parish where a vote is to take place and the “three months” will be the 3 months immediately prior to the calling of a meeting where a vote is to take place.
  3. A communicant who for health reasons or other reasonable cause cannot attend the church shall be considered a parishioner for voting purposes.
