The Cathedral Schola is the 8-member professional core of the Cathedral Choir. Its members consist of senior undergraduates, masters’ students, early-career professional musicians. In recent years, we have begun accepting gap year choral scholars from the United Kingdom. Gap year students sing with the choir and work as Educational Assistants at the Cathedral School.
Being part of this ensemble is a great learning opportunity: many of our singers come without prior experience of singing in a church setting, yet all are brought together through their love of music and their desire to develop their choral skills together.
Auditions are held for the Cathedral Choir and the Cathedral Schola in September each year (or by contacting the Director of Music for an appointment). Applicants should have previous choral experience and strong musicianship skills.
