Nancy was born in Windsor, Ontario, moving to London at the age of six where she received all her education, ending with an Honours Physical Health and Recreation Education (HPHRE) and MD at Western University. She was active in teaching swimming and directing camp waterfronts in her education years. She came to Victoria in 1970 to intern at St Joseph’s Hospital and fell in love with the city and medical community, only leaving to return to Hamilton, Ontario to do her residency in family medicine and spend one year on faculty at McMaster before returning to set up practice in family medicine. She retired 35 years later after a very active medical life. Since retiring she has been active learning to paint and make jewelry as well as continuing her lifelong pursuit of needlework and golf. Raised in the United Church she came to the Cathedral after her Mother’s death in 2015.
