Anglicans stand in a long line of Christians who practise “fixed time prayer,” also known as the “daily office.”  (The word “office” comes from the Latin word officium, or “duty” – and indeed, the obligation to the pray the office daily is laid upon all clergy, and offered as a useful practice to all Christians.)

Here at the cathedral, as we have emerged from COVID, we have reintroduced the daily office – specifically Matins, or Morning Prayer – from Monday to Friday, at 8.45 a.m.   Please feel free to drop in for this 15-20 minute service: it’s a great way to set up the day.
