DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the completion of work to restore our beloved cath
 edral organ\, we're delighted to invite you to join us for the first in a 
 series of concerts and events this weekend.  \nOur very own Assistant Di
 rector of Music\, Mark McDonald\, will be playing the organ and showcasing
  its incredible voice following careful repair earlier this summer. He wil
 l be joined by renowned Calgary-based trumpeter\, Adam Zinatelli.  \nPop
  by on your lunch break for beautiful music in equally beautiful surroundi
 ngs. We look forward to seeing you there! \nAdmission is by donation.  
 \nAbout Mark McDonald \nOrganist and harpsichordist Mark McDonald is reco
 gnized for his sensitive interpretations of a wide range of repertoire and
  styles from early music to the avant garde. Based in Victoria\, British C
 olumbia\, Canada (Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ ters.) he is sought after for h
 is skills as an organist\, harpsichordist\, choral director\, and teacher.
  Laureate of several international competitions\, he was the third-prize w
 inner of the 2014 Arp Schnitger International Organ Competition in Hamburg
  Germany and most recently participated in the 2017 International Organ Co
 mpetition Musashino-Tokyo. He was a featured soloist at the Royal Canadian
  College of Organist’s National Convention in Kingston\, Ontario in 2016
  and his diverse career has included performances with the National Youth 
 Orchestra of Canada\, the Victoria Symphony and Cirque du Soleil.  \nMar
 k currently serves as the Assistant Director of Music at Christ Church Cat
 hedral in Victoria\; additionally\, he is the Instructor of Organ at the U
 niversity of Victoria\, and a founding member of the Victoria Organ Studio
  teaching collective.  \nAbout Adam Zinatelli \nPraised as “exemplary
 ” and “a superior trumpet player” (Calgary Herald)\, Adam Zinatelli 
 is accomplished as an orchestral player\, soloist\, and chamber musician. 
 He has served as Principal Trumpet of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra s
 ince 2009\, and has been guest principal trumpet with the National Arts Ce
 ntre Orchestra and Les Violons du Roy. Adam is a founding member of the Ca
 nadian National Brass Project and of the Reveille Trumpet Collective\, a g
 roup dedicated to commissioning and performing new music for trumpet. \nH
 is debut recording ‘Fifteen Feet Closer to the Sky’\, praised as “a 
 highly original recording project” (La Scena Musicale) released in Novem
 ber 2023\, composed entirely of premiere recordings.  \nMr. Zinatelli co
 mpleted undergraduate studies at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conse
 rvatory of Music in Toronto with Andrew McCandless\, and pursued graduate 
 studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music with Michael Sachs.\n
