The Right Reverend Logan McMenamie is the 13th Bishop of the Diocese of British Columbia.
Logan has lived and worked in the Diocese of British Columbia for 28 years. He can say with great joy that he knows the parishes and the communities all over Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Kwak’wala: gwa’yi (Kingcome Inlet), that he serves as Bishop.
He has seen both the good times and the times of struggle within the life of our Diocese. He has served in parishes all over the Diocese: Port Alberni, Tofino/Ucluelet, Duncan, and the Greater Victoria area. During the last seven years he has served as Dean of Columbia, and rector of Christ Church Cathedral.
He is at heart a pastor, and in his ministry seeks to be caring, innovative, calm, gentle, visionary, clear, having a good sense of humour, being community-minded, pastoral, to the point, and compassionate. In his ministry and experience he has always drawn upon scripture for direction and guidance, and he understands the role of the ordained person as explained in the letter to the Ephesians.
“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.” - Ephesians 4:11-12
Logan is married to Marcia, and they have seven children, twelve grandchildren, three dogs, and a wonderful community of family and friends in the church and the wider community.
